Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s a super fast-paced, super cute summer romance with fake dating and a weird-looking (but cute) dog! Abby Jimenez is one of my favorite authors; you can’t go wrong with any book of hers. ✨ Perfect for anyone that’s looking for a cute, fast, and easy summer read!
Happy Place by Emily Henry: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You can’t really go wrong with any of Emily Henry’s books, but if you’re from New England, I think you’ll especially enjoy this one. Following a bundle of friends who reunite at their summer beach house for a vacation, including two of the friends who are supposed to be engaged, but are no longer… They have to navigate keeping this secret from their friends who know them best while trying not to fall back into the other, because their breakup was “for the best” (obviously). Romance aside, it’s just so fun and charismatic and beachy, and I loved it. (Honorable mention, Funny Story)
One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ultimate summer romance read. Genuinely such a sweet story of a complex summer love and overcoming pieces of your past in order to be a better you. Coupled with the setting of a family lake house? What more could you want? 10/10 read, I highly recommend for a summer (or any time of year) read!
Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh. My. Gosh. I haven’t been really into Ali Hazelwood books (other than the Love Hypothesis, love that one) but this one blew me out of the water. I don’t know how to describe it other than angsty, thick tension with your brother's coworker, oh and it’s all taking place at your brother's destination wedding in Italy. Are you kidding me?? The one thing I did not love about this book is the fact that they make such a big deal about the age gap. Like we get it, he’s older, it’s okay. But other than that, truly I cannot stop thinking about this book. Now I need to re-read it.
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you love Rainbow Rowell and the fall time, you’re going to be obsessed with this. Two friends who have worked at the same fall fair for all of high school are facing their last night together on duty, and find themselves running around trying to experience everything. Such a cute, cozy graphic novel that perfectly encompasses the excitement of Halloween and the fall season. Set at a fall fair, it’s just so perfectly atmospheric and cozy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick, but all-encompassing fall read.
Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As someone who was not obsessed with the Divine Rivals duology (I know, I’m sorry, it just did not hit with me) I was OBSESSED with this story. I went into it a little nervous just because it’s a prequel to Divine Rivals, but it was somehow so different and it was just incredible. Such a fascinating magic system and world, and such good world-building and characters. The romance plot was very reminiscent of the one in Divine Rivals, but even better in my opinion. Whether you loved Divine Rivals or are nervous about this one because you didn’t love it, or maybe you haven’t read either yet, I think anyone could love this story.
