The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. I think I need to reread this one soon. I have so much love for this book, it’s messed up in all the right ways. Explores a group of adopted children raised by a man with ancient and terrible power. The way it delves into what happens when one of them, Carolyn, inherits that power and starts to lose her humanity is so compelling. Seriously, so much love for this book.
White Oleander by Jane Fitch. A young girl’s odyssey through many different foster homes once her mother is sent to prison for murder. Growing up and exploring who you are, a study of nature vs. nurture.

Rant by Chuck Palahniuk
What happens when you contract rabies? You can now time travel of course! This is a great book of suspense, keeps you going through twists and turns trying to figure out what the story looks like, and what is true.
Voice Like a Hyacinth by Mallory Pearson
This is one of the best books I have read in such a long time. I took so long to read it in order to savor it for as long as possible. This book spoke directly to my soul and I am pleased. Now I must read We Ate the Dark and hope I love it even a fraction of how much I adored this book.
Comfort Me With Apples by Catherynne M. Valente. Weird and fascinating. Not at all what I was expecting, but a short delicious read.
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Not as good as House in the Cerulean Sea, but still fascinating and heart crushing. “...an uplifting story about a life spent at the office and a death spent building a home. “
